About Guangzhou City Construction College
Guangzhou City Construction College is a full-time engineering college approved by the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government and registered by the Ministry of Education. The school is located in Conghua District, Guangzhou City, covering an area of more than 1,300 mu, with more than 22,000 full-time students.
In 2012, the college passed the evaluation of talent training level of higher vocational institutions in Guangdong Province with excellent results. The university is a pilot university of modern apprenticeship system of the Ministry of Education, a model school of digital campus construction of national vocational colleges and universities, a model school of innovation and entrepreneurship education of national private colleges and universities, a pilot unit of vocational skills appraisal of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and the second batch of “National Model Branch of Party Construction” of the Ministry of Education.
The school has 11 secondary colleges of construction engineering, economics and management, electromechanical engineering, information engineering, foreign language and foreign trade, art and design, humanities, Marxism, sports and health, entrepreneurship education and continuing education, with nearly 50 enrollment majors. There are three national backbone majors of construction engineering technology, mechatronics technology and marketing, the public training center of finance and commerce is a national productive training base, and the “double-teacher” teacher training base of construction engineering technology majors (group) is a national double-teacher base; there are eight “1+X” certificate pilots of the Ministry of Education. X” certificate pilot; the high-level professional group of construction engineering technology is the first batch of provincial high-level professional group in Guangdong Province, and six majors, including construction engineering technology, engineering cost, international economics and trade, mechatronics technology, marketing and architectural design, are provincial brand (key) majors.
Guangzhou City Construction College has more than 1000 teachers, with 57.06% of doctoral degree holders, 32.24% of senior title holders and 76.16% of dual-teacher teachers. The faculty includes experts who enjoy the special allowance of the State Council, national famous teachers, national excellent teachers, national excellent educators, national model workers, Guangdong famous teachers, Guangdong model workers, Guangdong skilled workers and other advanced models. The university is the first private university in Guangdong Province to set up the post of “Pearl River Scholars” and hire chair professors; it has set up the post of “Phoenix Scholars” and hired a number of high-level talents such as doctors and professors as academic leaders in teaching and scientific research.
The college actively explores the cooperative education mechanism of “integration of industry and education, school-enterprise cooperation”. The public training center of modern construction technology is the training base of the 45th World Skills Competition for concrete construction in China, and the national “double-teacher” teacher training base, and has trained two world skills champions; the school was awarded the Data China project promoted by the School Planning and Construction Development Center of the Ministry of Education. “The school was awarded the “100 Schools Project” promoted by the Ministry of Education’s School Planning and Construction Development Center, and co-established the “Dawning Big Data Industry College” with Dawning Information Co. Ltd. and Huawei Information and Network Technology College (Huawei ICT College), the Intelligent Finance Industry College with Xindao Technology Co. The school is led by Guangzhou Tianma Group and Guangzhou Construction Group, supported by industry associations and based on famous enterprises, and unites more than 300 cooperative enterprises to form Guangdong Urban Construction Vocational Education Group, which is the second batch of provincial model vocational education group (alliance) construction units in Guangdong Province. The university has 12 higher vocational training bases (public training centers) supported by central and provincial finance, 15 provincial off-campus practical teaching bases for college students, 372 on-campus experimental training rooms, and 560 off-campus internship training bases. Among them, there are 5 teaching companies, 25 production training rooms jointly built by schools and enterprises, 30 workshops for masters, double teachers, famous teachers and teachers, 1 interdisciplinary innovation and entrepreneurship training base, 11 vocational skills appraisal stations (institutes), and 44 appraisal types (certificate names).
The college has won one second prize of national teaching achievement, two first prizes and two second prizes of Guangdong education teaching achievement. Students have achieved excellent results in major domestic competitions: one gold medal, one silver medal and two bronze medals in the national finals of China Internet+ Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, one gold medal in the national finals of Challenge Cup China Student Entrepreneurship Plan Competition, and one gold medal in the first vocational skills competition of the People’s Republic of China for concrete construction. The champion of concrete construction project in the First Vocational Skills Competition of the People’s Republic of China, one first prize and five second prizes in the National Competition of Mathematical Modeling for University Students, one second prize and three third prizes in the National Vocational College Skills Competition; one gold prize and six silver prizes in the Guangdong Provincial Competition of China “Internet+” Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. 2 gold prizes in the “Challenge Cup” Guangdong Student Entrepreneurship Plan Competition, 2 special prizes in the “Challenge Cup” Guangdong Student Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition, 14 first prizes and 35 second prizes in the Guangdong Vocational College Skills Competition; from 2014 to now, students From 2014 to now, students have won 544 national and provincial skill competitions.
