About Guangzhou College of Applied Science and Technology
Guangzhou College of Applied Science and Technology is located in the rising Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area, and is a full-time undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education. Its predecessor is Guangzhou University Songtian College, which was founded in 2000, and was transferred and renamed as Guangzhou Institute of Applied Science and Technology in 2020 with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
The university has two campuses in Guangzhou and Zhaoqing, covering a total area of 1,420 mu. There are more than 11,200 students and 630 teachers on campus, with more than 170 teachers with professional and technical titles of associate senior and above.
The university has 14 teaching and research units, including the School of Economics and Management, the School of Law and Political Science, the School of Sports and Technology, the School of Foreign Languages, the School of Artificial Intelligence and Electricity, the School of Intelligent Manufacturing, the School of Computer Science, the School of Arts and Media, and the School of Marxism, the School of Liberal Studies, the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the School of Continuing Education, the Mental Health Education Center and the Urban and Rural Cultural Development Research Center. The university has promoted the construction and development of four international specialties of accounting, financial management, computer science and technology, and software engineering; cooperated with King’s College of Australia, American International University in Richmond, London, and Ashland University in the United States to carry out joint training programs for undergraduates; and cooperated with Macau University of Science and Technology to carry out graduate student sponsorship programs.
The university actively serves the society and provides intellectual and talent support for local economic and social development. The university has set up a branch of the Guangdong Social Science Association and the Urban and Rural Cultural Development Research Center (provincial base), and has established five university-level research institutes, and is a member of the Guangdong Provincial Decision-making Advisory Unit.
