1. I am a 4th year senior student who is about to graduate. Let me share my personal feelings:
i. HEBUT is a 211 university, regardless of its ranking differ on various sites, it is a 211 university, which makes it better than most universities in China. Considering the geographical location (Tianjin metropolis), this is really a great choice. Whether it’s the rate of graduate enrollment or employment, it’s all very good.
ii. A good academic atmosphere. For example, in our class, most of them are students from Hebei, and a few students from other provinces, so we have a good academic atmosphere (because Hebei students study hard!). The atmosphere of the self-study room library is very good, you can see people waiting in line for the library to open early in the morning. But the common problem in universities may be that there is no control over some students who do not want to study in class, and I think it is the same problem everywhere that it is all based on self-awareness whether to study or not.
iii. Campus environment. Taking the Beichen campus as an example, although not located in the city center, the advantage of not having tall buildings around is that the sunset is unique, and you can easily capture the beautiful wallpaper like scenery… Basically, when you go to the cafeteria for dinner in the evening, everyone will post the scenery on WeChat Moments, which is makes it interesting and pleasing to see, the campus is good for your eyes as every random shot is picturesque.
iv. Extracurricular life. Oh, I really love weekend extracurricular life. Tianjin has a lot of fun. In the morning, I went to various universities to take a look at others’ schools, and at noon, I am fond of Binjiang Road to have a meal, go shopping in Joy City (大悦城) in the afternoon, take a boat ride on the Haihe River at night to see the night view, and the Tianjin Eye Ferris wheel is also very beautiful; The next day, take a photo of the Italian style street and rest at the Five Avenue Scenic Area; On the third day, check out the online celebrity library in Binhai New Area and visit the aircraft carrier park; The fourth day: Tianjin Fantawild Adventure. In short, playing is also a way to broaden one’s horizons.
HEBUT, its study environment, worry free living (with air-conditioning), friendly teachers and students, and places to play on weekends. In addition, motivated students can wake up early and go to the city for internships on subway commuting without any problem.
I love HEBUT, and here you will definitely have your own unique memorie
2. For me, choosing a school is all about quality of life and quality of learning. HEBUT Beichen Campus is located in the northern part of Tianjin, and there are two bus routes: 649 and 319 to metro. You can also take a taxi for about 11 RMB to the nearest Liuyuan subway station. The subway to the city is generally very convenient. But it is true that from the city center is by a distance, the good thing is that Tianjin as a whole is not very big, the traffic is not like other first-tier cities Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou or Shenzhen so frighteningly congested. So if you want to have a local tour of Tianjin during the holidays, it’s very convenient.
Talking about food, the campus east side only has one cafeteria, there are three floors, the first floor is cheap and affordable, like the first floor of the fried skewers and instant noodles, the second floor ramen, rice, cakes, porridge, spicy hot pot, hot pot, what a full range, but I personally like the rice dishes on the third floor. Although the third floor is a little expensive, but acceptable. There is also a 7-11 convenience store in the East End. In the morning, if it is too late to buy food, sometimes I choose 7-11.
There are two cafeterias in the West side, a cafeteria, and many supermarkets. I live in the East District, seldom go to the West District to eat, but freshman year went to a few times, the area is also large and quite affordable. Beiyang Time (Café) is a relatively high-class place on campus, I have seen college leaders, teachers and others go to have afternoon tea, students also study there.I think and Hebei University of Technology contrast school should be Beijing University of Chemical Technology and so on the same first-tier city 211 universities. Although Tianjin is not as developed as a first-tier city, but in the infrastructure is not inferior to Beijing, and then divided by the population density, rather than go to Beijing Chemical Industry and other schools, come to our Tianjin Hefei University of Technology 211 whether the future settlement or study life is much more comfortabl
About the style of study: as we all know, our school’s largest source group is from Hebei. As an outsider, we have to admit, these Hebei students are indeed more practical than our other non-exam provinces hard work, so the overall academic style is naturally not bad, the end of each year season, needless to say, every day everywhere you can see the people in a hurry to study.
Objectively speaking, our school may be less on some “flamboyant” things, but more on real developments for example there are several science and technology innovation competitions in recent years, the World Guinness Book of Records 3D printing bridge, HEBUT Finland, Asia’s largest water library etc.
