About Hubei University of Automotive Technology
Hubei University of Automotive Technology (HUAT, Chinese: 湖北汽车工业学院) is located in Shiyan City, Hubei Province, China, which is the only university in China whose name contains ‘automobile’.
HUAT began as an amateur university for workers of the Second Automobile Manufacturing Plant in 1972. There are nearly 15,000 full-time undergraduate (college) and graduate students in the university.
HUAT has more than 15,000 full-time undergraduate, graduate and international students. The university has established inter-university cooperation and exchange relations with universities in countries including the United States, Germany, Britain, Canada, France, Australia and Finland. There are two Sino-foreign cooperative programs approved by the Ministry of Education, and the university has signed strategic cooperation agreements with Beijing Institute of Technology and Beijing University of Technology, and regularly sends teachers and students to study abroad.
The university has hired more than 200 scholars from home and abroad as visiting professors, subject leaders and academic backbones, and has introduced six overseas scholars. Every year, the University sends key teachers abroad for further study, teaching training and academic exchanges, and organizes students to attend dual-degree and exchange programs overseas.
