Mingde College was founded in June 2001, and in September 2013, Guizhou University and Tahoe Group cooperated to organize Mingde College of Guizhou University. 2017, the college is fully located in Huaxi University City, with 13,850 students, a planning area of 686.24 acres, a construction planning area of 450,000 square meters, and a built-up area of 245,900 square meters. Guizhou University, founded in 1902, is a university jointly built by the Ministry of Education and Guizhou Provincial People’s Government and a national university for the construction of world-class disciplines, which provides high-quality teaching resources to support the development of the college. By reasonably setting and adjusting the structure of disciplines and majors, Mingde College has formed a system of disciplines and majors with engineering as the main subject and coordinated development of economics, management, literature, art and other disciplines. There are 6 teaching units in the Department of Information Engineering, Department of Digital Media, Department of Health Management, Department of Intelligent Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering and Department of Economic Management, and 45 undergraduate majors including Data Science and Big Data Technology, Network and New Media, Public Service Management, Robotics Engineering, Marketing and Civil Engineering are enrolled in the Ministry of Education, including 21 engineering majors. Since its establishment, the college has trained more than 20,000 graduates, and the college has put employment work through the whole talent training process. In recent years, the year-end employment rate of graduates has exceeded 95%, and the employment rate of some engineering majors has exceeded 98% for many years, which is the highest among the undergraduate colleges in the province.
