Northeast Petroleum University is located in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province, founded in 1960, and was identified as one of the 88 national key universities in 1978.
The university is a joint venture between Heilongjiang Province and China National Petroleum Corporation, China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation and China National Offshore Oil Corporation. It is a high-level university under the key construction of Heilongjiang Province.
At present, the university has 20,118 students, including 18,222 undergraduates, 419 specialists, 9 international students, 1,273 master students and 195 doctoral students. In the past nearly 50 years, the university has trained nearly 100,000 talents of all kinds.
