Peng Cheng Laboratory is a new type of research institution in the field of network communication in China, mainly engaged in strategic, forward-looking, basic major scientific problems and key core technology research in this field, is an important part of the national strategic science and technology forces. The laboratory is headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. The main research directions are network communication, cyberspace and network intelligence. The main mission is to focus on serving the national broadband communication and new network strategy, and to serve the national construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Shenzhen Demonstration Zone of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics.
Peng Cheng Laboratory headquarters was started in March 2018. It currently brings together 31 academicians, more than 160 international congressmen, national brilliant youth and other high-end talents, and gathers more than 1,800 various talents in the form of full-time, dual-employment and part-time market-oriented employment. It has undertaken a number of major national scientific research projects, and initially built a number of large scientific infrastructure represented by the “Peng Cheng Cloud Brain”. In-depth exploration and practice of the socialist market economy under the conditions of the key core technology research new national system. In terms of academic research, we have implemented the “double-wheel drive” model of building scientific research teams in the context of key projects and academician workshops in the context of cutting-edge academic research; in terms of building a collaborative innovation system between industry, academia and research, we have formed a close co-construction model with universities, research institutes and leading enterprises in Shenzhen, and cooperated with more than 150 institutions and research institutes nationwide. and scientific research institutions in China.
Peng Cheng Laboratory’s headquarters is currently located in the strategic emerging industry base in Liuxian-dong, Nanshan District, Shenzhen (Vanke Cloud City), with 144,000 square meters of office space. The future park will be built in Shibilong area of Xili Lake International Science and Education New City, Nanshan District, Shenzhen. The new park will be built on a planned site of 2039 mu, with 298 mu of first phase construction and 408,000 square meters of building area.
In the new historical stage, Peng Cheng Laboratory pursues “communication without barriers, connection without limits, and evolution without end” in the three directions of communication, network and intelligence, and strives to build a harmonious integration space of human society, information space and physical world.
