About Sino-British College, USST
The Sino-British College of University of USST (Shanghai for Science and Technology) was formally approved by the Ministry of Education in 2006, and is a college under Shanghai for Science and Technology. The college was officially approved by the Ministry of Education in 2006, and is also the leading international cooperative university college in China that introduces quality education resources from top overseas universities in a systematic, large-scale and intensive manner. With the unique advantages of internationalization, the college has realized the diversification of the mode of achievement through the rich choice of disciplines, awarding universities and study paths.
Currently, the college has established the School of Management, the School of Engineering and Computing, and the School of Language, Education and Culture, with full English teaching and small class sizes.
In order to realize the strategy of Shanghai Municipal Government to promote science and education, and to cultivate the urgent talents for the future “advanced manufacturing and modern service industry”, Shanghai Polytechnic University, a key development institution in Shanghai, and the University of Sheffield, the University of Leeds and other nine famous British universities have jointly established the Sino-British International College. With the strong support of Shanghai Municipal Government, Shanghai Polytechnic University and nine famous British universities such as University of Sheffield and University of Leeds jointly established the Sino-British International College of Shanghai Polytechnic University. The College is the first Sino-British cooperative institution in China that adopts the “one-to-many” cooperative mode of school operation.
It is also the leading university college in China to introduce quality education resources from top overseas universities in a systematic, large-scale and intensive manner. The College was formally approved by the Ministry of Education in 2006, and is fully implementing undergraduate education and foreign bachelor’s degree education.
The campus of Sino-British College is located at the Fuxing Road Campus of Shanghai Polytechnic University, which has a deep historical and cultural heritage and is situated in the heart of Shanghai, with a rich cultural heritage and a strong international atmosphere. The College has a School of Management, a School of Engineering and Computing, and a School of Language, Education and Culture. All courses are taught in English with small class sizes. The College has more than 110 faculty members from 20 different countries and regions around the world, of which more than 80% are foreign faculty members, most of whom have international teaching backgrounds and doctoral degrees. There are currently about 1,400 students enrolled and over 70 international students from 27 different countries and regions around the world.
It is worth mentioning that graduates of CII have been widely praised by the community for their excellent academic performance, high employment rate and high sense of social responsibility. Over the past ten years, the College has achieved fruitful results in talent training, discipline innovation, cooperation and exchange, and campus construction, and has been highly recognized by the government departments and the community of both China and the UK.
