Stony Brook Institute at Anhui University (SBIAHU) is a US-China cooperative educational institution established between Anhui University, China (AHU) and the State University of New York at Stony Brook, USA (SBU). SBIAHU was established in June 2020 and in July, Chen-Ning Yang, a famous theoretical physicist, Nobel Laureate in Physics, and Professor Emeritus of Stony Brook University, inscribed the name of “Stony Brook Institute of Anhui University”. SBIAHU brings together the flagship universities of Anhui Province and New York State to form the first China-US joint institute in Anhui Province, capitalizing on the universities’ shared strengths in research and STEM disciplines to nurture our students’ existing talents and passions.
In 2020, SBIAHU opened its doors to its inaugural class, providing students with both high-quality education and meaningful cross-cultural experience. SBIAHU offers three outstanding undergraduate programs: Applied Statistics, Applied Physics, and Digital Media Technology.
