About Suzhou Institute of Systems Medicine
Institute of Systems Medicine, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Suzhou Institute of Systems Medicine (ISM) was jointly founded in 2013 by Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences & Peking Union Medical College, the government of Jiangsu Province, the government of Suzhou City and the Suzhou Industrial Park. ISM will adhere to the spirit of “Erudite as Avicenna, Benevolent as Nightingale” and serve as a new model that exploits systems biology and translational medicine approaches for discovery and innovation based research and development towards medical and healthcare problems.
ISM occupies a total area of 46,800㎡ with a total construction area of 145,000㎡ in 2 phases. Phase 1 project is put into use in 2018. There is 1 laboratory building, 1 complex building and 1 animal science center, including individual laboratories, public platforms and multi-function facilities with a construction area of 45,000㎡.
