University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS, Chinese: 中国科学院大学) is part of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). UCAS ranks at the top of Chinese higher education.
UCAS consists of four campuses in Beijing (Yuquan Road, Zhongguancun, Olympic Village, Yanqi Lake), five educational bases outside Beijing (Shanghai, Wuhan, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Lanzhou), and 116 training units throughout China. 55 teaching and research units are directly under UCAS.
According to the latest data from the Essential Science Indicator (ISI) database, which is calculated every 10 years, the Chinese Academy of Sciences has published 123,593 SCI papers in the past 10 years (1999-2009), surpassing the Russian Academy of Sciences and Harvard University for the first time and ranking first among the world’s research institutions and universities.
