School of Law, University of International Business & Economics (UIBE)

UIBE Law School is a place to educate high-quality legal talents, produce top-notch legal scholarship, and support practical innovation in legal community.

UIBE Law School provides international programs, comprised of a Master’s program and a Ph. D. one, both in international and comparative legal studies. We offer nearly 40 courses specifically for these two programs, all taught in English, and all available to students enrolled in either program. Our curriculum consists of two parts: (1) a comprehensive and comparative study of the Chinese law, with extensive comparisons to the law of other jurisdictions (such as the U.S. and the EU); (2) a regular study of international law, with more attentions to cutting-edge issues in a global context, if not specific to China.

All together, these international programs focus on commercial and economic aspects of national and international law, demonstrating UIBE Law School’s unique, but in-depth understanding of the Chinese economy and global governance. Our specialty is significant, so will be our contributions to the students’ furtherance of careers in academia or international practice of law, especially when it relates to China.

About the position

The UIBE Law School welcomes applications and nominations for several full-time, contract-based faculty positions in any specializations, including, inter alia, public/private international law, international economic law, international dispute settlement, business & commercial law, corporate law, financial law, etc. Expertise in teaching legal research, writing and/or moot court competition is also desirable. Candidates must possess a JD or Ph.D. (in law) degree or the equivalent, and have demonstrated distinction or promise in both legal scholarship and legal teaching. English native speakers with a common-law background are highly preferred, so is their three-year (or more) experience in teaching or legal practice.

Depending on an applicant’s qualification, the position may be filled as the Assistant Professor, the Associate Professor or the Professor. Initially, the contract term is either one (1) or two (2) years. Once it expires, the contract can be renewed based on the agreement between the both parties. The start date of the employment is flexible, dependent upon the date of hire.

The UIBE Law School is a vibrant engaged community located in Beijing, capital of China, and blends interdisciplinary research with a reputation for education of international legal talents.
