Tsinghua Laboratory of Brain and Intelligence (THBI) is conducting a global search for principal investigators at the rank of tenured Associate Professor or Full Professor. Junior candidates of exceptional promise and track record will also be considered. THBI is a new stand-alone interdisciplinary research institute established by Tsinghua University. The institute aims to conduct cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research in the areas of brain sciences, artificial intelligence, and cognitive science. THBI will house 10 independent groups, each led by a principal investigator who are recruited globally. PI’s come from a broad range of areas, including but not limited to systems and computational neuroscience, cognitive science, computer science, and artificial intelligence. THBI has an English-speaking working environment and state-of-the-art research facilities including a nonhuman primate center, a neuro-imaging center, a high-performance computing center, a social interaction research center, a neuro-technology development center, and a child cognition center (laboratory for infants and toddlers).
Applicants should have an outstanding, internationally-recognized track record of scientific research in the field of neuroscience, cognitive science, computer science, or artificial intelligence. Promising and talented young scientists are also encouraged to apply for junior positions. Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in related fields and relevant research experience. Successful candidates are selected based on their scientific qualifications regardless of age, gender, nationality, or ethnicity. THBI will support qualified candidates to apply for relevant national and international award programs. Successful candidates will be provided with an internationally competitive salary and benefits packages, a generous start-up fund, and an adequate laboratory space.
