Introduction

Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) is one of the prestigious universities in Canton, China, which specializes in international studies and educates professionals for international business and management.

School of Information Science and Technology has three undergraduate programs, including computer science and technology, software engineering and cyberspace security, and three master programs in cyberspace security, electronic information and management science and engineering. The school has high-level teaching staff with international vision, rich teaching experience, and outstanding scientific research ability. At present, there are 72 professional teachers, 44 with senior titles, 42 with overseas learning experience and 1 foreign teacher. Requirements

The ideal candidate will have computer related background, with a PhD or equivalent in information science. Relevant working experiences will be preferable.

Duties

1. The teaching workload is 6-8 class hours per week.

2. At least one publication each year, the articles should at least be published by the academic journals or conference proceedings included by EI Compendex (Shortened as “EI article”). A publication included by SCI with Impact Factor above 1.0 can be deemed as 2 EI articles.

3. At least 1 national or provincial research project participation each year.

4. At least 1 speech to the students and teachers of SIST each semester.

Remuneration Package

Standard of Salary

Associate Professor, RMB 11,000-RMB 13,000 /month;

Professor, RMB 13,000 – RMB 18,000 /month;

Well-known Scholar, up to RMB 23,000 /month.

(Long-term foreign teachers should pay individual income tax.)

Free Accommodation

We provide free accommodation on campus for the long-term foreign teachers

(Fees of electricity, gas and toll call should be paid by individuals.)

Insurance & Medical Care

Long-term foreign teachers will entitle to public medical care the same as the other faculty members of the school. Besides, we take out the insurance for severe diseases, hospitalization and accidental injury for the foreign teachers under 65 during their working period in the university.

Flight Subsidy (paid monthly, inclusive of salary)

America, RMB 1,100 / month;

Canada, RMB 1,200 /month;

Western Europe, RMB 1,200 / month.
