Introduction

Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) is one of the prestigious universities in Canton, China, which specializes in international studies and educates professionals for international business and management.

The School of Law of GDUFS offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs in law. For undergraduate program, there are three majors, namely, LL.B. with International Economic Law, LL.B with Civil Law & Commercial Law, and LL.B. with Intellectual Property Law. At postgraduate education level, LL.M program and JM program are offered. And European Law program is offered at doctoral education level.

The School of Law is staffed by a competent faculty with high professional reputation and good educational backgrounds, which includes 29 professors, 19 associate professors and 50 of them hold doctoral degrees. The School of Law has established a number of research institutes including but not limited to Research & Service Center for International Law, Center for Environmental Law, Center for China-Africa Legal Research, Center of Regional Integration of Law-based Governance and Institute of Land Law.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a fluent speaker of English with a PhD or J.D. or equivalent in law and experience of teaching or practicing in law.

Duties

• Teach at least one law course in English;
• Instruct the students in moot arbitration or court competition;
• Advise or discuss with the faculty on teaching law courses in English or publishing in English;
• Give lectures or prepare workshops on his/her research interest.

Remuneration Package

Standard of Salary

Associate Professor, RMB 11,000-RMB 13,000 /month;

Professor, RMB 13,000 – RMB 18,000 /month;

Well-known Scholar, up to RMB 23,000 /month.

(Long-term foreign teachers should pay individual income tax.)

Free Accommodation

We provide free accommodation on campus for the long-term foreign teachers

(Fees of electricity, gas and toll call should be paid by individuals.)

Insurance & Medical Care

Long-term foreign teachers will be entitled to public medical care the same as the other faculty members of the school. Besides, we take out the insurance for severe diseases, hospitalization and accidental injury for the foreign teachers under 65 during their working period in the university.

Flight Subsidy (paid monthly, inclusive of salary)

America, RMB 1,100 / month;

Canada, RMB 1,200 /month;

Western Europe, RMB 1,200 / month.

How to Apply

Those with professional titles (including retired professors) and with J.D. (LL.M.) degree or above, and those with abundant experience of teaching or practicing in law have priority. For those with no professional titles, a Ph.D. degree is required. All applicants must submit the following:
