KIAA Postdoctoral Position for Research on Pulsar Astronomy and Gravitational Astrophysics
The Kavli Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics (KIAA) at Peking University invites applications for two postdoctoral research appointments. The appointments will be for two years, renewable for a third year subject to a performance evaluation and the availability of funding.
We seek qualified applicants to work with Professor Lijing Shao on topics related to pulsar astronomy and gravitational astrophysics. Applicants with experience on theoretical aspects of neutron stars, tests of gravity, gravitational waves, as well as black hole spacetimes are especially encouraged to apply. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis, beginning on October 15, 2021, until the positions are filled.
KIAA is located on the historic grounds of Peking University, has English as the working language, and regularly sponsors thematic workshops and conferences to provide a platform for national and international scientific exchanges. KIAA is engaged in national and international theoretical and observational initiatives, development and use of facilities, and student training, pursued in partnerships with other Kavli institutes and a network of domestic and international astronomy centers.

SALARY: Depending on qualifications and experience.
START DATE: December 1, 2021; March/May/September 1, 2022
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in astronomy, physics, or related fields completed or expected by the effective date, and a demonstrated record of research excellence.
