Pilkyung Moon’s group (wp.nyu.edu/moon/publications) at New York University (NYU) Shanghai invites applications for one postdoctoral research fellow position in condensed matter theory, to start in the Fall or Winter of 2022. Those who are interested in the theoretical investigation of the electronic structures and physical properties of low-dimensional nanostructures, such as graphene superlattices, quasicrystals, nanotubes, and moiré superlattices, are encouraged to apply.

Appointments will be made for two years, renewable for successive years under mutual agreement. Salary will be internationally competitive – based on applicant’s experience and NYU rule plus benefits. And, we will support the fee for obtaining a visa and round-trip airfare at economy class.

Qualifications

Applicants are expected to have completed their Ph.D. in physics, material sciences, or a related discipline. Preference will be given to applicants with a strong background in theoretical condensed matter physics and relevant analytical and/or computational experience. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out research with Principal Investigator in the general area of hard condensed matter physics, to apply research grants, and also to train and supervise students.
