Job Description
The programme of Media and Communication Studies (MCOM) in the Department of Communication at UIC invites applications from student-centered scholar-practitioners broadly trained in journalism and digital media production. We welcome candidates with relevant practical experience and research interests in multimedia production. There are opportunities to develop innovative pedagogy and collaborative research.

Job Requirement
All applicants should hold at least an MA in media-related fields with a commensurable industry profile. Other requirements include a firm commitment to teaching and mentoring students. Teaching responsibilities of 3 courses per semester may include courses related to convergent journalism, copyediting, multimedia production, digital post-production, photography, and others of the applicant’s own interests. Preference will be given to candidates who also have teaching experience.
Benefits and Appointment Terms
Commencing salaries will be commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience. Fringe benefits include housing allowance, leave and social insurance. Appointment to this position will initially be made on a fixed-term contract with mutual agreement.
