To tackle the grand challenges in quantum science and technology, Beijing Municipal Government established the Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Sciences (BAQIS) in 2017 with co-founders among top research institutions including Tsinghua University, Peking University and Chinese Academy of Sciences. Its mission is to address pressing issues in the field of quantum information and to shape the quantum future through research excellence. BAQIS strives to provide a stimulating working environment that fosters creativity and encourages risk-taking, collaboration and efficacy. BAQIS has made substantial investments for strategically important research areas with quantum communication as one of its core focus. It owns two state-of-the-art platforms of experimental facilities accessible to all its researchers: a cleanroom for micro-nano fabrication and a synergetic test platform. Group for Quantum Communication and Devices has set up brand-new laboratories with state-of-the-art lasers, cryostats, photon detectors, spectrometers and electronics. The group’s current research interests include quantum communication, photonic integration, quantum emitters and semiconductor-based quantum technologies.
Positions and Requirements：
We plan to expand aggressively our research activities and invite applicants to fill vacancies at different levels from Post-Doctoral to Assistant/Associate/Principle Investigator to supplement or strengthen our research areas. Open positions for the next two years are primarily in the following topics:
- 1. Experimental quantum communication
- 2. Photonic device integration
- 3. Fabrication and characterization of semiconductor quantum devices
- 4. Quantum communication theory.
A suitable candidate must hold a PhD degree or an equivalent in Physics, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline, and must have demonstrated their research excellence in their existing research field. Outstanding candidates are encouraged to apply for an Associate or full researcher position with a research proposal within the theme of quantum communication.
