Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor (Economics) in the Department of Economics and Finance [Ref. B/484/09]

We are now seeking exceptional scholars to join us as Assistant Professors/Associate Professors/Professors/Chair Professors (on substantiation-track) in all academic fields with special focuses on One Health, Digital Society, Smart City, Matter, Brain, and related interdisciplinary areas. Research fields of particular interest include, but not limited to:

Successful candidates should have a demonstrated ability to build a world-class research programme related to CityU’s strategic research areas, plus a commitment to education and student mentorship. Candidates must possess a doctorate in their respective field by the time of appointment.
Duties
Conduct quality research, teach courses at undergraduate and graduate levels, and supervise MPhil/PhD students.
Requirements
The Department seeks strong candidates in all areas of economics, especially in the areas of industrial organization, microeconomics, macroeconomics, international economics, and behavioural economics. Candidates are required to possess a PhD in Economics or closely related fields, with strong research potential and evidence of quality teaching.
Salary and Conditions of Service
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. A cash allowance will be provided (where applicable). The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University’s contribution to the Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme (where applicable), and the total aggregate amount will be 15% of the basic salary. Excellent fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental schemes, and relocation assistance (where applicable). Income earned in Hong Kong is subject to a yearly salaries tax at progressive rates up to the current maximum flat rate of 15%. Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract.
