College of Chemistry was one of the founding departments at Zhengzhou University in 1950s. So far, more than 10000 students have graduated from the College. The outstanding alumni include two academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences, one academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, one fellow of Canadian Academy of Science, and more than 300 outstanding young scholars around the world. In 2017, the inter-discipline “Green Catalysis” of chemistry and chemical engineering was selected by the Ministry of Education as one of the three disciplines to be developed to be world-class at Zhengzhou University. The College currently has 180 full time faculty members including two academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences, one recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, one recipient of the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars, and others. The College’s strengths lie in functional metal clusters, organic catalysis, computational chemistry, electrochemical energy storage/conversion, and industrial catalysis for chemical conversions. We publish over 400 scientific papers annually, a large amount of which are published in top and leading journals in chemistry. In recent years, over 300 graduate students are enrolled every year. The College has a well-established and equipped research facility such as X-ray diffractometers, Scanning Electron Microscope, Transmission Electron Microscope, NMR Spectrometers, Gas-Chromatography Mass Spectrometers, and High Performance Liquid Chromatography instruments etc.The College seeks outstanding scholars with strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research. Candidates in any area of chemistry will be considered, with particular emphasis on candidates who will complement or extend the college’s strengths. Preference will be given to those with teaching and research experiences and Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field. Duties include undergraduate or graduate teaching, and research. The successful candidate will have a track record of outstanding teaching and research experiences.
