Established in 2000, the College of International Education (CIE) is a self-funded unit of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) offering full-time Associate Degree and Undergraduate Honours Degree programmes at both the HKBU Kowloon Tong and Shatin Shek Mun campuses. It is a major education providing unit of the School of Continuing Education (SCE), one of the eight Faculties/Schools of HKBU. CIE currently enrolls about 4,000 students and is committed to sustaining the University’s mission of providing quality whole-person higher education with a Christian heritage. English is used as the medium of instruction at the College. Applications are now invited for the following position:

Senior Lecturer in Communication (PR0438/22-23)

The appointee is expected to perform teaching duties and to provide leadership to a variety of academic programmes under the Division of Communication of CIE. Duties of the post include course teaching, programme development and review, quality assurance and quality enhancement, student development, programme admissions, and staff supervision. The appointee is also expected to provide leadership service in committees.

Applicants should possess a doctoral degree in related disciplines. Applicants should have substantial experience in teaching and some years of experience in programme management at managerial/academic leadership level. Possession of excellent interpersonal communication skills, demonstration of collegiality, and knowledge of quality assurance in higher education are essential for the post. Those who have work experience in academic programmes at different QF levels in self-financing tertiary institutions as well as continuous engagement in academic research are preferred.

Reference salary range:
Senior Lecturer : HK$68,900 – HK$96,300

The appointee will work on either/both the Kowloon Tong or/and Shatin Shek Mun campuses.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of three years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Rank and Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
