1. Top-notch Faculty

Requirements:

Scholars with extensive international academic influence, recognized by prestigious international awards, such as the Nobel Prize, Turing Award, and Fields Medal, among others; other international award winners; academicians of the Academy of Sciences or the Academy of Engineering of developed countries; professors with special achievements; able to work full-time at Tsinghua.

Remuneration and Benefits :

Position: Chair Professor

Remuneration: With reference to the corresponding positions in the world’s top universities, and according to the specific conditions, the selected candidates will be provided with agreed remuneration and welfare benefits to enable them to be devoted to academic studies

Start-up fund: Negotiable according to actual demand

Team building: Team building is highly supported, with a guaranteed number of doctoral students to be enrolled each year

Housing: Assistance will be given in solving the housing problem. Welfare apartments can be purchased if the requirements of the state and the university are met

Children’s schooling: Children of pre-school and compulsory education age can be arranged to attend kindergartens and schools affiliated to Tsinghua University.

2. Outstanding Faculty

Requirements:

Tenured professors or associate professors from universities at home and abroad, or high-level talents of considerable level from research institutions at home and abroad; have achieved internationally recognized academic achievements in his/her field of study; with profound scientific literacy and broad academic vision, and excellent organizational leadership ability; able to work full-time at Tsinghua.

Remuneration and Benefits :

Positions: Tenured Professor / Tenured Associate Professor / Chief Researcher

Remuneration: With reference to the corresponding positions in the world’s top universities, and according to the specific conditions, the selected candidates will be provided with agreed remuneration and welfare benefits to enable them to be devoted to academic studies

Start-up fund: Negotiable according to actual demand

Doctoral students: A guaranteed number of doctoral students to be enrolled each year

3. Young Faculty

Requirements:

Young faculty under the age of 40, with a doctor’s degree, and a formal teaching or research position in universities, research institutions or enterprises at home and abroad; have achieved outstanding academic achievements in his/her field, with outstanding innovation ability, and a potential to become an academic or technological leader in his/her respective field. Able to work full-time at Tsinghua.

Remuneration and Benefits :

Positions: Assistant Professor / Non-tenured Associate Professor / Tenured Associate Professor / Tenured Professor

Remuneration: Competitive salary

Start-up funds: The university provides 1-3 million RMB for research start-ups

Doctoral students: Guarantee the number of doctoral students to be enrolled each year

4. Shuimu Scholars

Requirements:

Outstanding young scholars under the age of 35, with a doctor’s degree or having met the basic requirements for the defense of a doctoral dissertation, having graduated or graduating from universities, and with the dedication to academic research, the courage for innovation, a strong sense of social responsibility and international vision. Able to work full-time at Tsinghua.

Remuneration and Benefits :

Remuneration: Annual salary of 300,000 yuan (excluding state housing subsidy of 12,000 yuan)

Housing: Assistance will be given in solving the housing problem, with temporary apartments provided

Children’s schooling: Children of pre-school and compulsory education age can be arranged to attend kindergartens and schools affiliated to Tsinghua University.

• Introduction to your expertise and academic results, as well as innovation results
• Honors and awards
