Bengbu University Overview

Bengbu University is a full-time provincial public university located in Bengbu, Anhui Province, China. Its history of higher education can be traced back to 1978, and the current university was officially established in April 2007 through the merger of Bengbu Educational College, Bengbu College, and Bengbu Workers College.

The university focuses on applied and industry-related disciplines while developing in a multi-disciplinary manner. In 2019, it was designated as a provincial construction university for a master’s program.

  • Anyang University, South Korea: A cooperation agreement signed in November 2022 allows undergraduate students from Bengbu University to pursue master’s degrees at Anyang University.
  • NUBiP of Ukraine: An online conference in 2021 was held to plan exchange programs for students and teachers and discuss creating joint curricula with the possibility of obtaining double diplomas. Following this, 22 Bengbu University graduates applied for master’s programs at NUBiP of Ukraine.
  • University of Debrecen, Hungary: In 2024, the two universities signed a cooperation agreement to organize joint professional programs, conferences, and mobility opportunities for students and faculty members. Bengbu University is noted as one of only 13 universities in China to offer Hungarian courses, and the sole one in Anhui Province.

International Activities: The university has programs and initiatives in place, such as establishing the Fengyuan Overseas Engineer College, indicating a focus on international engineering talent development.
