About Gansu University of Political Science and Law
The Gansu University of Political Science and Law (GSUPL) is a key provincial public institution located in Lanzhou, Gansu, China.
- Pioneering Role: Founded in 1956 (as the Gansu Provincial Cadre School of Political Science and Law), GSUPL is distinguished as the earliest provincial undergraduate political and law college in the country. It was officially established as an undergraduate college in 1984.
- Academic Structure: The university is composed of 12 secondary colleges and offers 34 undergraduate majors. Its core focus is on Law and Political Science, but it also includes programs across six major fields: Law, Management, Engineering, Literature, Economics, and Arts.
- Key Strengths: Law is designated as the dominant provincial-level discipline, while Evidence Science and Business Administration are recognized as provincial characteristic disciplines. The university obtained the qualification to award master’s degrees in 2006.
