Wuhan University of Technology (WUT), is a state key university directly affiliated to the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. WUT is among the first batch of universities which have entered the national “211 Project” and China’s “Double-First Class” Initiative. WUT is jointly developed by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Transport, and it’s the largest university directly under the Ministry of Education to train talents for the three major industries of building materials and construction, transportation and automobile.
Since its establishment through merger in 2000, the School of Economics has consistently upheld its guiding philosophy of “prioritizing education and academic excellence,” maintaining rigorous academic standards while fostering a culture of innovation. It currently offers three undergraduate majors in Economics, Finance and Digital Economy (Artificial Intelligence), master’s and doctoral degree programs in the first discipline of Applied Economics, four professional master’s degree programs in International Business, Finance, Digital Economy and Public Administration, and one postdoctoral research station in Applied Economics. Three provincial research bases and six university-level research bases have been established.
Under the new situation, based on the advantages of the existing economic disciplines, the College insists on research and teaching investment in new fields such as digital economy, integration of artificial intelligence and economy, green low-carbon economy, etc., devotes itself to building a first-class scientific research platform and innovation and practice bases, encourages teachers and students to explore new research directions, and endeavors to cultivate new types of economic talents adapted to the development of the new quality of productive forces through the establishment of a close industry-university-research cooperation relationship with enterprises.

The university provides 30,000-200,000 RMB scientific research start-up fee or one case; the college provides 30,000-100,000 RMB talent scientific research allowance each year, with a funding period of 3 years. |
