About Company:

Hunan First Normal University (HFNU), renowned as “a millennium-old academic institution and a century-old university of education,” traces its roots to the Chengnan Academy founded in 1161 AD by Zhang Shi, a famous Neo-Confucian scholar of the Southern Song Dynasty. In 1903, it was established as Hunan Normal Academy to launch modern teacher education. It was renamed Hunan Public First Normal School in 1912, Hunan First Normal School in 1949, and upgraded to an undergraduate university with its current name in 2008. In 2019, it was listed as a first-batch undergraduate enrollment institution in Hunan Province. In 2021, the Ministry of Education of China launched a special program to support its joint Master’s degree program with Hunan Normal University. In 2024, it was approved as a master’s degree-granting institution. A constellation of outstanding talents or historic figures worked or graduated from here, including Mao Zedong, the founding father of PRC.

Based in Changsha, a city listed as one of the happiest cities in China for 2024, HFNU is currently comprised of three campuses spanning over 214 acres. It has 14 schools and 43 majors. And there are over 27,000 students and nearly 1,700 faculty members in our university community.

Aiming at educational inclusivity and international integration, HFNU has established partnerships with 25 universities worldwide, ranging from the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom to South Korea, Malaysia, and Thailand.

Job Position: Foreign English Instructor

Job Details:

Teaching English to university students: developing general teaching plans and lesson plans, delivering instruction, grading students’ homework, conducting teaching research, administering student assessments, and completing other role-related tasks.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• Fluent in English (at native or near-native level);
• Bachelor degree or above;
• Dedicated in education;
• Good communication skills;
• At least two years of relevant teaching experience;
• No criminal record;
• Good health status.

Preferred Qualifications:

• TESOL/TEFL certificate;
• University teaching experience;
