The Research Institute of Public Health

A newly-established research center of excellence with multidisciplinary integration in the research of public health at Nankai University (NKU) opens competition for positions of Full Professors/Associate Professors.

Nankai University (NKU) is one of China’s pre-eminent Universities with an outstanding faculty and world-class research. NKU addresses basic scientific issues, as well as the profound responsibilities toward society and the transfer of research into meaningful applications. Based on the urgent necessity for the research about emergence management and social security support of national nutrition and public health, the Research Institute of Public Health was established by placing particular emphasis on interdisciplinary collaborations within the faculty, and other faculties within the university to facilitate the research on varied directions, including Epidemiology and Health Statistics, Early Warning and Prediction for Epidemic and Disease Control Strategies Assessment, New Pathogens and Biosafety, Nutrition and Food Hygiene, Environment and Health, and Social Science of Medical Humanities. It aims to promote the research advances on diverse disciplines to serve the national public health research by combining basic and experimental research.

We are seeking applicants of expertise and hands-on experience in the research related to public health to join the newly established research institute. We expect them to develop an strong academic profile.

Positions:

1. Full Professors/Associate Professors in Epidemiology and Health Statistics.

Candidates with expertise in Epidemiology and Health Statistics are welcome to apply and are expected to teach, as well as to perform research activities related to Epidemiology and Health Statistics.

2. Full Professors/Associate Professors in Early Warning and Prediction for Epidemic and Disease Control Strategies Assessment.

Candidates with expertise in preventive medicine, Epidemiology and infection disease, Statistics are welcome to apply and are expected to teach, as well as to perform research activities related to prediction, early warning and control strategy evaluation related to infection disease.

3. Full Professors/Associate Professors in New Pathogens and Biosafety.

Candidates with expertise in Pathogenic Microbiology, Medical Microbiology and Biosafety are welcome to apply and are expected to teach, as well as to perform research activities related to New Pathogens and Biosafety.

4. Full Professors/Associate Professors in Nutrition and Food Hygiene.

Candidates with expertise in Nutrition and Food Hygiene, Food Nutrition and Food Safety Inspection are welcome to apply and are expected to teach, as well as to perform research activities related to Nutrition and Food Hygiene.

5. Full Professors/Associate Professors in Environment and Health.

Candidates with expertise in Environment and Health are welcome to apply and are expected to teach, as well as to perform research activities related to Environment and Health.

6. Full Professors/Associate Professors in Social Science of Medical Humanities.

Candidates with expertise in Social Science of Medical Humanities are welcome to apply and are expected to teach, as well as to perform research activities related to Social Science of Medical Humanities.

Requirements:

Applicants of Full Professors/Associate Professors should possess a PhD (full award) from a well-known research organization in the above relevant, scientific subject. Applicants with substantial experience of conducting effective scientific research at postdoctoral level, or the oversea research experience, will be given application priority.
