About Hainan Tropical Ocean University
Hainan Tropical Ocean University (HTOU), located in Sanya, Hainan Province, is a full-time public undergraduate university jointly established by Hainan Provincial People’s Government, the former State Oceanic Administration, China National Offshore Oil Corporation, Sanya Municipal People’s Government and Sansha Municipal People’s Government. The university is the “China-ASEAN Education and Training Center” of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education, the base of educational aid from the Ministry of Education, and a Chinese member institution of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization University. The university is supported by China Ocean University.
The university has two campuses, one in Sanya and Wuzhishan. HTOU has 19 colleges, 53 undergraduate majors and 5 specialist majors. There are more than 1,200 staff members, including more than 810 full-time teachers. The university has more than 17,700 full-time students, including 197 master students, 88 master students jointly trained with Ocean University of China, more than 14,900 undergraduate students, more than 2,800 specialist students and more than 110 international students.
