South China Agricultural University, abbreviated in Chinese as “Hua Nong”, is a national key university with strengths in agricultural sciences and life sciences.
The university was founded in 1909. As of October 2020, the university has 25 colleges (departments) and 99 undergraduate majors, 11 postdoctoral research stations, 12 first-level disciplines authorized for doctoral degrees, 1 professional degree category for doctoral degrees, 28 first-level disciplines authorized for master’s degrees, and 15 professional degree categories for master’s degrees. The university has more than 46,000 full-time students, including more than 38,000 undergraduates, 8,000 graduate students and 133 international students.
