About Yuzhang Normal University
Yuzhang Normal University, located in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, is a full-time public undergraduate institution approved by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and is a university jointly built by the people’s governments of Jiangxi Province and Nanchang City.
The school’s predecessors were the Provincial Women’s Normal School established in 1908 and the Provincial First Normal School established in 1914. 1947 was named the Provincial Nanchang Normal School. 1973 was named the Nanchang Normal School. 2004 was upgraded to Nanchang Normal College. May 2017 was approved by the Ministry of Education to be upgraded to the current school on the basis of Nanchang Normal College.
The school has two campuses in Hongjiaozhou and Wanli, covering an area of 770 mu; a collection of 853,300 paper books and more than 1.2 million electronic books; 14 teaching units, 21 undergraduate majors and 26 specialist majors; 590 full-time teachers and 12,193 full-time students.
