Recruitment of Foreign English Teachers
The School of Foreign Languages is situated on the Changcheng Road campus of Shandong First Medical University (Taian). To boost our school’s level of internationalization and satisfy the demands of our foreign language programs, we are actively seeking applications from outstanding foreign teachers internationally.
1. Job Details
(1) Specialty Area: English
(2) Positions: We are hiring full-time foreign teachers to instruct both language and disciplinary courses. The initial contract spans 10 months and may be renewed after it expires, subject to mutual agreement.
2. Qualifications
(1) Legal Compliance & Cultural Respect: All applicants must adhere to the Constitution, laws, and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, show respect for Chinese customs and culture, and have no criminal records or legal disputes in their country of origin.
(2) Nationality & Language: Candidates must be NATIVE English speakers from countries such as the U.K., the U.S.A., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
(3) Education & Experience: A minimum requirement is a Bachelor’s degree along with two years of relevant, full-time teaching experience.
(4) Personal Qualities: Applicants should be in good physical and mental health, possess excellent personal character, demonstrate a rigorous, realistic, and scientific work ethic, and exhibit a strong sense of team spirit. The ideal candidate will be under 60 years of age.
3. Responsibilities
(1) Teaching Load: Responsibilities involve teaching courses in speaking, listening, writing, and culture of the teachers’ native countries, with an average weekly teaching load not exceeding 16 class hours.
(2) Extra-Curricular Involvement: Teachers are also expected to participate in activities like “one-to-one” student tutoring, coaching for debates or speeches, or attending English Corner sessions.
4. Compensation
The remuneration package for foreign teachers comprises a monthly salary, an airfare allowance, and other benefits. The salary level will be determined based on the teacher’s academic degree.
5. Time Off
Foreign teachers are entitled to take Chinese national holidays in addition to the university’s summer and winter breaks.
6. Housing
The university provides an apartment furnished with essential furniture and household appliances. However, teachers will be responsible for their own rent, utility costs (water, electricity, heating), and other related expenses.
7. Insurance
Teachers are required to purchase personal accidental insurance at their own expense for the duration of their stay in China.
