Introduction to CNU

Chongqing Normal University (“CNU”) is a full-time regular higher education institute founded by Chongqing People’s Government in 1954, and one of the earliest higher normal colleges established after the founding of the People’s Republic of China. It has a history of operation dating back to the Public Eastern Sichuan Normal School in 1906. As one of the major bases for cultivation of educational teachers and other specialized talents in the Western Region, CNU became entitled to confer master’s degrees in 1986, to recommend graduates without undergoing the admission examination for admission to master’s programs in 2017, and to confer doctoral degrees in 2018.

CNU has developed a comprehensive teacher education system that covers pre-school education, primary school education, secondary education, higher education, continuing education, vocational and technical education, special education and international Chinese teacher cultivation and training. It has 17 subordinate colleges, with more than 32,000 in-school students (including over 25,000 full-time undergraduates, 6,500 doctoral and master’s candidates, and nearly 500 international students); it has more than 2,100 faculty members, among whom are there over 890 members of senior professional titles, over 910 of doctoral degrees and over 1,000 doctoral advisors and master tutors.

CNU has formed a complete discipline development system with first-level disciplines covering 12 subjects (including philosophy, economics, education science, literature, science, crossed discipline, among others). It offers doctoral programs in 3 first-level disciplines, master’s programs in 24 first-level disciplines, professional programs in 19 specialties, and 74 undergraduate education programs. It has 1 first-class discipline of municipal level, 18 key disciplines of municipal level during the 14th Five-year Plan period, 4 discipline clusters of municipal level (including “artificial intelligence +”), 6 dominant discipline clusters (including “mathematics and information science”, “cultural relics, museology, art and culture”, “life science and green ecology”, “intelligent materials and new energy”, “regional economy and industrial development” and “teacher education”), and 3 disciplines (including “engineering science”, “chemistry” and “botany and zoology”) ranked among the ESI Top 1%.

CNU has built 56 scientific research platforms of provincial or ministerial level, including one of the first national centers for applied mathematics, a “111 Program” (an innovation and introduction program for the disciplines of optimization and control) base, a key laboratory designated by the Ministry of Education for optimization and control, an engineering research center for biological technology on active substances, etc., and 28 scientific research teams of municipal level, to support gathering of talents.

Boasting beautiful environment and convenient transportation, CNU has three campuses with total land coverage of 2,688mu. It also has affiliated kindergartens, primary schools and middle schools.

01 High-level talents and innovative teams at home and abroad

We have job offers for high-level talents and innovative teams, and hereby sincerely invite domestic and foreign high-level talents of all specialties to join us.

(1)Categories of high-level talents

① First-level talents:

Domestic and foreign top talents who are international academic leaders, have abilities and experience in leading high-level scientific research teams, and are able to lead respective disciplines to reach or maintain internationally advanced level.

② Second-level talents:

Domestic and foreign leading talents who are domestic academic leaders, have abilities and experience in leading high-level scientific research teams, are able to lead respective disciplines to reach or maintain domestically advanced level, and, as a rule, have an age of no more than 55 years old.

③ Third-level talents:

National-level young talents and domestic or foreign outstanding talents who have independent scientific research ability and stable research orientations, and possess the potential to become academic leaders in relevant fields, and, as a rule, have an age of no more than 45 years old (natural sciences) or 50 years old (humanities & social sciences).

④ Fourth-level talents:

Provincial or ministerial-level talents and domestic or foreign outstanding talents who have relatively high academic reputation in respective fields of the discipline, and, as a rule, have an age of no more than 45 years old (natural sciences) or 50 years old (humanities & social sciences).

⑤ Fifth-level talents:

High-level technicians who hold doctoral degrees and senior professional titles, possess great potential for innovative development, and, as a rule, have an age of no more than 40 years old (natural sciences) or 45 years old (humanities & social sciences).

(2)Benefits for introduced high-level talents

① Entitlement to staff establishment.

② Entitlement to salaries and benefits in accordance with relevant provisions of the State, Chongqing Municipality and CNU.

③Teams, high-end talents and special talents in urgent need based on development of the university are subject to consideration on a case-to-case basis. A combination of full-time employment and flexible introduction is applied. For talents employed by flexible introduction, work and tasks during the employment term shall be subject to agreement with the university through consultation.

02 High-level talents for Chongqing National Center for Applied Mathematics

Chongqing National Center for Applied Mathematics has job offers for leading talents, excellent young backbone talents and academic leaders in fields of operational research, applied mathematics, computational mathematics, graph theory, probability statistics, statistics, machine learning, computer technology and others.

In addition to benefits set forth in the talent introduction policy for talents introduced in the same period, high-level talents of full-time employment with Chongqing National Center for Applied Mathematics are further entitled to scientific research funds, settling-in allowance and increments to annual remuneration. Such talents will also be included in the special talent pool of the Center, and thus be additionally entitled to benefits from relevant policies applicable to Chongqing National Center for Applied Mathematics as a “special talent zone” in Western (Chongqing) Science City.

PhDs are to be introduced by category. Outstanding PhDs introduced will be entitled to benefits of up to CNY 1,000,000~CNY1,050,000 (including entitlement to purchase one talent condo with the gross floor area of around 90m2); excellent PhDs introduced will be entitled to benefits of up to CNY 750,000~CNY 800,000; ordinary doctors introduced will be entitled to benefits of up to CNY 550,000~CNY 600,000. Specific benefits for talents introduced are set forth below:
