Position Details

• Role: EFL Lecturer
• Department: School of Foreign Languages and Cultures, Chongqing University
• Teaching Commitment: The average teaching load is 16 hours per week.
• Responsibilities: Lecturers will be responsible for teaching English courses to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. This may include subjects such as General English, Academic English, English Literature, Critical Reading and Writing, and various cross-cultural courses.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary: Annual income is between 157,000 to 197,000 RMB, determined by the candidate’s degree and prior teaching experience, with additional payment for hours taught over the standard load.

Applicants who hold one of the following will be preferred:

• An MA or higher degree in TESOL, Education, or English.
• An MS degree in a Science discipline PLUS at least one year of full-time EFL/ESL teaching experience at the university level or with adult learners in a classroom setting.
• A PhD with experience in areas such as General English (GE), English for Academic Purposes (EAP), English for Specific Purposes (ESP), or English for Disciplinary Studies (EDS).

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must possess one of the following to be considered:

• A BA degree in TESOL, Education, English, or related fields (such as Communication) PLUS a minimum of two years of full-time ELT experience at the university level or with adult learners in classroom settings.
• A BS degree in a Science discipline PLUS a CELTA/DELTA or equivalent certificate (preferred) PLUS a minimum of two years of full-time ELT experience at the university level or with adult learners in classroom settings.

Essential Requirements: Successful applicants should have proven experience in developing instructional materials, a strong understanding of assessment principles, and the flexibility needed to thrive in culturally and socially diverse environments.
