I. Overseas Outstanding Young Scholars Program

• Application Requirements
  • Abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, uphold scientific ethics, and embody the spirit of scientists in the new era.
  • Born on or after January 1, 1984.
  • Hold a Ph.D. degree.
  • Research areas: Within the scope of the school’s 7 departments and 2 think tank disciplines.
  • Generally, have held a formal teaching or research position in overseas universities, research institutions, or corporate R&D institutions after obtaining a Ph.D., with at least 36 consecutive months of work experience. Requirements for work experience may be relaxed for outstanding candidates with overseas Ph.D. degrees.
  • Recognized by peers for research or technological achievements, with potential to become a leader or outstanding talent in the field.
  • Not yet fully returned to China for work, or returned after January 1, 2023. Must resign from overseas employment and work full-time in China for no less than 3 years upon receiving funding.The application system will be open on 1^stFeb. 2024 to 15^th Apr. 2024, and the website is https://grants.nsfc.gov.cn/.

• Benefits
  • Tenured position, professorial title, Ph.D. supervisor, exclusive doctoral and master student recruitment quotas, unlimited postdoctoral recruitments.

II. Young Top-Notch Talent Program

1. Application Requirements
   • Abide by Chinese laws and regulations, uphold scientific ethics, embody the spirit of modern scientists.
   • Hold a Ph.D. degree, physically and mentally healthy.
   • Generally, not older than 45 years for Type A positions, and 40 years for Type B positions.
   • Broad academic vision, innovative thinking, recognized by academic peers. Type A candidates should have outstanding achievements and be among the top in their field, with potential to become academic leaders. Type B candidates should have shown promise in their field, ranking among the best of their peers, with strong academic potential.
2. Benefits
   • Tenured position, title of Professor (Type A) / Associate Professor (Type B), Ph.D. supervisor; exclusive doctoral and master student recruitment quotas.
   • Research startup funds of over 500,000 CNY.
   • Salary: Base annual salary of 800,000 CNY (Type A) / 600,000 CNY (Type B) + approximately 120,000 CNY/year for social security and housing fund contributions by the school + income from research and social services + contract task bonuses + other performance rewards.
   • Office, laboratory space, living allowance and settling-in fees of 500,000 CNY (Type A) / 300,000 CNY (Type B).

III. Assistant Professor

1. Application Requirements
   • Abide by Chinese laws, uphold scientific ethics, and embody the spirit of modern scientists.
   • Hold a Ph.D. degree, physically and mentally healthy.
   • Generally not older than 32 years.
   • Demonstrated significant achievements in the relevant field, among the best of peers, with strong academic potential; research direction should align with “focusing on the forefront of world science and technology, the main battlefield of the economy, major national needs, and public health”.
2. Benefits
   • Title of Assistant Professor / Assistant Research Fellow, eligible to apply for the title of Master’s Supervisor.
   • Salary: Base annual salary of 400,000 CNY + approximately 80,000 CNY/year for social security and housing fund contributions by the school + income from research and social services + contract task bonuses + other performance rewards.
   • Eligibility to apply for the “Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities”.
   • Rental of school apartment or housing allowance of 1,500 CNY/month.
   • Access to the region’s best basic education resources and high-level medical services from top domestic hospitals.
