Announcement for Recruiting Foreign Teachers of Bailie Vocational College

Bailie Vocational College is a public full-time general vocational school approved by the People’s Government of Gansu Province and filed by the Ministry of Education. The college is located in Shandan County, Gansu province, the ancient town of Silk Road at the narrowest part of the Hexi Corridor. It is rooted in the Shandan Bailie School of Gansu Province, founded by the great internationalist fighter and New Zealand social activist Rewi Alley. The college focuses on full-time junior college level education, and vigorously develops vocational skills training and international cooperation.

In order to strengthen the college English major construction and international level, Bailie Vocational College now recruits to the public for the vacancies of two foreign language teachers based on requirements as followed:

Basic Qualifications

• 1. The applicant should comply with the laws and regulations of China and have good work ethics, professional skills, and good teamwork spirit;
• 2. Native English speakers, or English as first language; Having more than 3 years of teaching experience with Bachelor Degree or above; A non-native English speaker should also have a bachelor’s degree or above in education or language or normal education and hold a teacher’s qualification certificate to teach English or a TESOL certificate;
• 3. Under 60 years of age and in good health;
• 4. The applicant should provide lawful and notarized relevant materials for applying for work visa;
• 5. The working period is one year, and after the end of the employment period, the two sides will negotiate to determine whether to continue the employment according to the work needs.

Working tasks

Teaching English speaking, listening, writing, native culture, other courses and participating in the college’s foreign exchange work.

Salary and benefits

• 1. The salary standard for foreign teachers with bachelor’s degrees is 6000 yuan per month (after tax); with master’s degree or associate professor title is 7000 yuan per month (after tax); with doctor’s degree or professor title is 8000 yuan per month (after tax);
• 2. Providing apartments (70m’-90 m’), natural gas, water, electricity, heating, and internet.
• 3. Foreign teachers who signed a one-year contract will be provided a total of 4, 000 yuan for winter and summer vacation travel subsidies, which will be paid in two installments.
• 4. The college is responsible for the cost of accommodation, transportation, etc. for foreign teachers on the way between Lanzhou (provincial capital city) and Shandan.
