  • ECI302 Children’s Literature (3 credits)
  • ECI409 Literacy in Early Childhood (3 credits)
  • ECI317 Blended Methods in Early Childhood Math & Science (3 credits)
  • ECI318 Social Studies, Child, Family and Cultural Relationships (3 credits)
  • ESE436Foundations of Special Education: Early Childhood (3 credits)
  • ECI402 Integrated Lit I: Develop Literacy, Language in the Elementary School (3 credits)
  • ECI319 Integrated Curriculum and Assessment in Early Childhood (3 credits)

• Plan, prepare, and teach well-developed lessons based on the curriculum provided by theJI
• Select and sequence appropriate materials, resources, and approaches according to the course/content area and the needs of learners
• Provide adequate number of quizzes and tests to assess students (formative and summative assessments) and provide relevant and timely feedback on performance to students and academic personnel at the International Programs management of JI Teaching Committee
• Maintain current lesson plans, assessment data (i.e., grades), and attendance records
• Counsel students who are failing to attend.  Report to the proper authorities for corrective action
• Utilize teaching technology when available and appropriate

Education

• Master’s degree in Education or a related field (minimum)
• Ph.D. degree in Education or a related field (preferred)
  (Related fields include Education, Counseling Psychology, Literature, Art, Social Science or related disciplines)

Experience

• Two years teaching experience teaching education related courses at the University level
• Native or near-native proficiency in English as evidenced by educational background and/or relevant and reputable English proficiency scores
• Capability to solve problems in an academic environment
• Capacity for prioritizing conflicting demands
• Demonstrates good critical thinking skills to understand student and staff issues
• Ability to be flexible when situations demand
• Basic computer literacy especially in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
