Visiting professor (or teaching) positions in Mathematics

To support the bachelor degree program in “Mathematics and Applied Mathematics” between Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences (CUAS) and University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW), we are inviting applications for visiting professor (or teaching) positions for 2026 spring semester.

Main duty includes teaching one/several of the following courses:

1. 10102131(STT 215) Introduction to Statistics
2. 10102101(MAT 161) Mathematical Analysis 1
3. 10102104(MAT 335) Advanced Algebra
4. 10102103(MAT 261&275) Mathematical Analysis 3
5. 10102108(MAT 361) Differential Equations
6. 10102134(STT475) Large Data Modeling and Application
7. 10102114(MAT 346) History of Mathematics
8. 10102142(MAT 375) Discrete Mathematics
9. 10102143(MAT 325) Numerical Methods

Qualification:

1. Hold a PhD in Mathematics, Statistics or other related majors.
2. Tenured or tenure-track faculty are preferred.

Job description:

• 1.Abide by Chinese laws and willing to teach course according to CUAS requirements.
• 2.The teaching must not involve politics, religion, etc. that do not relate to teaching.
• 3.Responsible for all teaching materials (including, but not limited to, lecture notes, homework, and all tests.) following the teaching guideline agreed upon between UNCW and CUAS.
• 4.Instruction language: English.
• 5.Total teaching hours: 32-96 academic hours.
• 6.Teaching schedule: offline teaching is preferred. Start from February, 2026 to July, 2026. (Subject to CUAS final notice)
• 7.Be invited to present one or more seminars to upper level students and faculty members about introduction of visiting professor’s research field and research work. Teacher who comes to China to teach offline are required to provide no less than three hours of lectures during the CUAS teaching period. The specific lecture content is ultimately decided by the teachers and the Chinese-Foreign Cooperative Education Program Management Office.
• 8.CUAS will provide a faculty member as a co-teacher to the course for assistance. He/she will provide some additional lectures and Q&A meetings, and assist students’ performance evaluation, such as grading homework, tests, and assigning final grade.

Salary and accommodation:

1.Salary and benefits: negotiable depending on degree and qualifications

2.If teaching on site at CUAS, CUAS will provide or reimburse air fare allowance for foreign teacher’ s coming to the school and returning home. The allowance amount is the actual price of the economy class air ticket from Chongqing to the nearest airport where the foreign teacher resides before their appointment. The specific price will be confirmed by the CUAS and CUAS has the right to explain; provide on-campus foreign teacher apartment for accommodation.
