About Fuzhou University of International Studies and Trade
Fuzhou University of International Studies and Trade (FUIST, Chinese: 福州外语外贸学院) is located in Changle District, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. It is a private university approved by the Ministry of Education.
In the “2018 Monitoring Report on the Development Potential of General Colleges and Universities in Fujian Province” released by Fujian Province Education Evaluation and Research Center, our university ranked first among private undergraduate colleges and universities in Fujian Province in terms of development potential in 2017. Among them, the indicators of resource integration, talent cultivation, scientific research, social service and comprehensive reputation are ranked first among private undergraduate universities.
In the latest “2019 China University Evaluation Research Report” released by China Alumni Association, the university was ranked as a six-star top private university in China, and the comprehensive index jumped to the 15th place in the ranking of private universities in China and the first place in Fujian Province.
The college has 8 departments with 36 undergraduate majors and more than 17,000 students.
Scientific Research
The university has established scientific research platforms, such as Fujian Zhi Gong Economic Research Institute, Zheng Zhenduo and Minhai Culture Research Center, Socialism with Chinese Characteristics Research Center, Science, Technology and Society Research Center, Fujian University Engineering Research Center for Big Data Application in Modern Service Industry, and Banking and Finance Research Institute. In recent years, the college has edited and published dozens of academic works and published more than 3,000 papers in various journals such as SCI, SSCI, CSSCI, CSCD and EI.
Education Variety
1、Student Entrepreneurship Park
Since 2010, more than 100 entrepreneurial teams have entered the park and more than 600 people have been involved in entrepreneurship. The university was awarded “Entrepreneurship Training Base for College Graduates in Fujian Province” by Fujian Provincial Department of Personnel and Fujian Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League.
2、Cooperative education
The university gives full play to its location advantage of being located in the economic zone on the west coast of the Taiwan Strait, adjacent to Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, and facing Southeast Asia, and attaches importance to and strengthens foreign exchange and cooperation, and has established cooperation with the University of Pennsylvania, Duquesne University and C.C.C. College in the Philippines.
The university is one of the first pilot institutions in Fujian Province to cooperate with universities in Taiwan, and has established teaching and research cooperation with Taipei Institute of Ocean Technology, Taoyuan Institute of Innovation and Technology, Taiwan Asia Pacific Institute of Creativity, Taiwan Wanneng University of Science and Technology, and Taiwan Yuda University of Commerce and Technology.
3、Academic Exchange
It is the first private undergraduate university in Fujian Province to obtain the qualification of recruiting foreign students to China and the outstanding unit of employing foreign cultural and educational experts in Fuzhou City.
The university has cooperated with more than 20 foreign high-level institutions such as Plymouth University and Anglia Ruskin University in the UK, the State University of New York at Stony Brook in the US, Massey University in New Zealand, Sturdy-French Higher School of Business and Arts, and Liege Provincial College of Professional Studies in Belgium in various aspects such as joint training of undergraduates and masters, exchange students, short-term study tours for students, mutual visits of teachers, and lectures and further training. The university has established close teaching and research cooperation with more than 10 universities in Taiwan, including Asia University, I-shou University and Shu-Te University of Science and Technology. The university actively responds to the “One Belt and One Road” initiative of the country and recruits international students from countries along the “One Belt and One Road”, and now has more than 60 international students from Vietnam, Thailand, Nepal, Morocco, Libya, Laos, Mongolia and other countries along the “One Belt and One Road”. “There are more than 60 international students from Vietnam, Thailand, Nepal, Morocco, Libya, Laos, Mongolia and other countries along the Belt and Road.
