About Huaqiao University
Huaqiao University (HQU) is a university affiliated to the central government and approved by Premier Zhou Enlai himself. It is a comprehensive university jointly built by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, Fujian Province, Quanzhou City and Xiamen City, and has been identified as a “national key university” by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
HQU is one of the universities with the largest number of overseas students in China and one of the first universities in China to implement the board of trustees system.
HQU is located in Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, with two campuses in Quanzhou and Xiamen, a Nanyang College in Singapore, an overseas Chinese education base in Barcelona, and Confucius Institutes in Bangkok, Phuket, and Vienna, etc. HQU has 28 faculties, one national key discipline, 40 provincial and ministerial key disciplines, and three disciplines in the top 1% of the ESI global ranking.
