To promote exchange and cooperation between young scientific and technological talents from ASEAN countries, and to attract outstanding young scientific and technological innovation talents from ASEAN countries to participate in technological innovation in Guangxi, achieving the sharing of innovation resources and cooperative development between Guangxi and ASEAN countries, the Department of Science and Technology of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is implementing the 2025 ASEAN Outstanding Young Scientist Program. This program supports outstanding young scientists from ASEAN to conduct collaborative research in Guangxi for a period of 6 months or 12 months. Guangxi will provide living allowances and research funding for eligible participants coming to Guangxi.
I. Application Conditions
1. Young scientific and technological talents with nationality from ASEAN countries.
2. Possessing a doctoral degree in a relevant field (with at least 2 years of relevant work experience) or a master’s degree (with at least 3 years of relevant work experience), with outstanding research achievements or demonstrated innovative value.
3. Currently employed in universities, research institutes, or enterprises beyond China or the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Alternatively, those who have entered the country after January 1, 2024, and are currently employed in universities, research institutes, or enterprises within the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
4. Age under 45 (inclusive of 45, based on the date of application).
5. Good communication skills in English or Chinese.
6. Commitment to abide by Chinese laws and regulations and other relevant rules and regulations.
7. For those who graduated from universities outside Chinese mainland, a degree certification from the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China (www.cscse.edu.cn) or a degree certification from a Chinese embassy or consulate abroad is required.
II. Funding Duration and Standards
1. Funding Duration: Options for 6 months or 12 months (choose one based on project needs).
2. Funding Standards: Project funding is divided into living allowances and research work subsidies.
Living Allowance: 12,500 RMB per month before tax.
Research Work Subsidy: 25,000 RMB for 6 months of funding, and 50,000 RMB for 12 months of funding.
