Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (Tsinghua SIGS) was launched in March 2019. As Tsinghua University’s only campus outside of Beijing, Tsinghua SIGS is a further expansion and integration of the former Tsinghua Graduate School at Shenzhen and the Tsinghua-Berkeley Shenzhen Institute. Tsinghua SIGS aims to bring together world-class faculty and students; tackle global challenges through cutting-edge research, international collaboration, and industrial partnerships; and nurture the next generation of global leaders. It is committed to promoting economic and social development in Shenzhen, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and beyond.

Tsinghua SIGS is now looking for a global communications specialist (full-time) to support the Office of Communications and Outreach. Details are as follows:

 

Responsibilities:

1.Write, edit, and proofread English language news;
2.Plan and develop content for publicity campaigns;
3.Maintain and update the Tsinghua SIGS English website;
4.Produce English promotional materials, including newsletters, brochures and pamphlets; and take part in the design and distribution of materials;
5.Edit and translate English content for campus cultural projects;
6.Assist in the planning of cross-cultural publicity activities and the expansion of global communication efforts;
7.Translate names of buildings and facilities to support the development of a bilingual campus;
8.Perform research on global communication strategies of other universities and provide suggestions for improvement.

 

Requirements

1.Bachelor’s degree (or higher) from a recognized university, with Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Education, Language & Literature, and related disciplines preferred;
2.Native speaker of English, or at least 3 years of experience studying/ working at English-speaking countries and regions;
3.Excellent written and spoken English across a variety of registers and contexts;
4.Possess cross-cultural communication skills, creative and innovative;
5.Responsible team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills;
6.Comfortable in a bilingual and multicultural work environment, additional preference will be given to applicants demonstrating proficiency in Mandarin.
